Infrared Explorer

Supported filters for image processing

A look at the mathematical transforms — blur, edge detection, emboss, solarize and more — that Infrared Explorer can apply to thermal images after they are captured.

In image processing, filters refer to mathematical functions used to perform blurring, sharpening, embossing, edge detection, and other transformations. The Infrared Explorer incorporates a set of filters for post-processing thermal images (i.e., after the images are taken). These tools are conveniently available through the Process Button on the Image Viewer provided by My Gallery of the app, as illustrated in the following screenshots.

The following images show the effects of 11 of these filters (the first one is the original thermal image, colored as Iron).

We are also working on enabling the post-processing of thermal videos as well. Once completed, this new functionality will allow you to recolor or restyle a recorded video.
