IFI cooperates with Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) in Lithuania on an IMPRESS-U project funded jointly by the US National Science Foundation, the US National Academy of Sciences, the US Office of Naval Research Global, and the Research Council of Lithuania. The goal is to collaborate with the Institute of Renewable Energy (IRE), the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, to develop AI-based algorithms and software that can improve the resilience of STEM education at the grassroots level in wartime Ukraine.

IFI signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding with The Institute of Renewable Energy (IRE), The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to establish a research, development, and education partnership in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency. The first project is Renewable Energy for Bolstering Ukraine's Infrastructure by Learning and Design (REBUILD).
